How to Use Fujifilm Instax Mini 9?
1. Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 Unboxing
The Instax Mini 9 Box comes with:
- Mini Camera
- 2 AA Batteries
- A Close-Up Lens Attachment
- A wrist Strap
- A Starter guide
You will need to buy a film pack additionally which consists of two cartridges with 10 films in each cartridge, so you will have a total of 20 films in one pack. The Fujifilm Instax films also come in various color options like Standard Color film, Monochrome film, or Border design films.
2. Batteries in the Instax Mini 9
Instax mini 9 uses the 2 AA Alkaline Batteries, which comes within that pack and those two batteries last for around 100 pictures. You can insert the batteries on the left side of the left side compartment as shown below in the screenshot. So, before knowing how to use your camera, you should insert your batteries in its battery compartment.
How to Insert Batteries?
Anyone with a little or no technical knowledge can insert the batteries inside this instant camera. Let’s see how you can do it.
3. Loading the Films in the Camera
After opening the Film pack you will find two cartridges. Open the first cartridges from its packaging and be careful not to touch or press it in the center as this may damage the cartridge.
Notice of the Yellow mark on the cartridge as shown in the picture below. Now, open the rear film compartment in the Mini Instax 9 and you will see a yellow marking on the top right corner.
Align the yellow mark of the cartridge with the yellow mark in the compartment and insert the film in the camera and close the lid.
4. Turning On the Camera
Now, you can turn on the camera, the on button is on the front side of the camera just right side below the Lens. When you press that button you will see the Lens coming out of the camera. Once it is turned on, it is almost ready to take pictures. The one thing you have to do before that is given below.
5. Removing the Black Protective film
Before you begin to take pictures, the film counter on the rear is showing the letter “S” like before, you need to press the shutter button once and then black protective film will come out. Now, you’re ready to take the pictures.
6. Adjusting the light
When you turn on the camera you can see an LED just on top of the Lens Barrel on the front side, it reads the ambient light around you and also the setting on which you need to keep the Brightness Dial.
All you need to do is rotate and match the dial pointer with LED so that it exposes the film to the right amount of light. The most common question we get is “How to adjust the light setting for the night in Instax mini 9?”
All you need to do is set the dial to Hi-Key mode and it will take fine pictures at night also.
7. Taking Instant pictures
Now, just point the camera on the item you want to take the picture of and click the Shutter button. The camera will flash and will eject the film, it will take the film 2-6 minutes to fully develop the colors.
I myself enjoyed it a lot and even my friends also bought Instax series cameras after they saw mine. It’s great for almost any event wherein you can take pictures and even selfies and share an instant print with your friends as a memory.
